Functional responsibilities

SUPPORT TO PROGRAMME TEAM

  • Conduct the gender and disability inclusion focused review of project documents, proposals, reports, etc. to ensure projects adequately mainstream GESI considerations

  • Provide guidance to grantee organizations to ensure active gender inclusion and reach to persons with disabilities and other marginalized and vulnerable groups

  • Apply knowledge of Disability Rights and Gender Equality in Myanmar to enable review and monitoring of NRM assistance for potential negative and positive conflict sensitivity interactions

  • Guide capacity strengthening of team and partners on gender/disability inclusion, including organizing GESI workshops, trainings, etc

  • Develop concept notes, scoping reports, and other analyses as needed on the way gender and inclusion has been incorporated in NRM programming, and how it can be strengthened moving forward.

  • Review partner reports with an eye on gender and inclusion, and provide feedback to the programme team and partners on how this can be strengthened.

  • Support ongoing NRM review processes, including mid-term reviews, project evaluations, and strategy revisions

  • Assist grantees to incorporate gender and disability inclusion components to their budgets and incorporate the correct allocations within the proposed budgets

  • Support the incorporation of inclusive principles and GBV guidelines to all NRM grants

MEAL AND KNOWLEDGEMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with M&E Specialist and provide recommendations to ensure that the M&E frameworks and formats include Gender and Disability related guidance and indicators

  • Collaborate with M&E Specialists and provide technical recommendations to capture, analyze and visualize the gender disaggregated results, lessons learned, best practices and case studies.

  • Suggest activities in MEAL to help NRM, IPs, and communities to understand how gender and inclusion impacts humanitarian, development and peace outcomes.

  • Provide necessary technical inputs to grantees for planning and executing independent evaluation (if any) , incorporating gender as a cross-cutting evaluation criteria

 

Education/Experience/Language requirements


Education

  • Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent), preferably in law/human rights, social science, international development, business administration, gender analysis, public administration, international relations or related areas is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with additional 2 years of relevant work experience preferably in the above duties and responsibilities may be accepted in lieu of Master Degree.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in conflict, gender, disability inclusion, and/or work with marginalized populations in conflict settings is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of gender, peace and conflict dynamics in Myanmar is required.
  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (e.g. MS Office newer versions, Google Suite Applications) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide policy and programmatic advice to humanitarian, development, and peace projects on GESI issues is highly desirable
Language Requirements
  • Fluency in English and Myanmar is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN language is desirable.
