Description

Ukrainian Researchers

Closes: 10 October 2024

Summary

The Humanitarian Impact Institute (HII) works extensively across the humanitarian sector in Ukraine. We are seeking enthusiastic Ukrainian and Russian speaking people who are curious, have analytical minds and the best possible English writing skills to join our Ukrainian projects.

To be successful in this role you will have 3-5 years of primary source qualitative research experience in the humanitarian sector. You should be excellent at moderating focus groups and conducting interviews using semi structured questions, preferably with experience conducting sampling plans.

You will be working across our projects delivering a variety of research and evaluation studies focused on Ukraine. This is a role for someone able to work effectively remotely and under pressure. If you are not based in Ukraine, you must be willing to travel there regularly.

The Role

This role will help deliver evaluations, research studies, monitoring and other investigations in Ukraine. HII delivers evaluations and large MEAL programs globally, with a focus on East Africa, MENA, Ukraine, south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

HII is dedicated to increasing the impact of humanitarian and emergency responses, as well as development programs globally.

The role involves:

  • Conducting focus groups and qualitative interviews across unoccupied Ukraine;
  • Producing timely and high quality dual language (Ukrainian/Russian & English) transcripts;
  • Designing qualitative and quantitative research tools
  • Working as a team to deliver end-to-end studies;
  • Conducting triangulated mixed methods analysis;
  • Data and knowledge management within each project;
  • Ensuring all M&E projects are intersectional, conflict, disability and gender sensitive.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years of experience conducting mixed methods research and analysis, with some of that experience in the humanitarian sector;
  • a proven track record of conducting highly effective qualitative focus groups and interviews;
  • native fluency in Ukrainian;
  • high quality English writing skills;
  • willingness to travel within unoccupied areas of Ukraine; and
  • complete alignment with our values and our goals on diversity, inclusion and localisation.

Benefits

We have a social mission to increase impact in humanitarian and emergency responses and development programs globally.

This is a full time role in HII's core team, working remotely.

This role will have a competitive base salary along with:
  • work flexibly to cater for carers, parents and other circumstances;
  • generous leave provisions;
  • serious learning growth opportunities;
  • work with an exceptional team on important projects; and
  • contribute to meaningful and effective humanitarian programs globally.
