Job Description

The USAID Guatemala Leveraging Economic Investment for Alliances Activity seeks to rectify the prevalent oversight of climate change risks in infrastructure planning by providing essential technical assistance and developing a comprehensive framework and guidebook for climate-resilient project development in Guatemala. The project's overarching goal is to empower Guatemalans to access economic opportunities within their country, reducing irregular migration patterns and contributing to the nation's long-term prosperity.

The Training and Logistics Coordinator will lead coordination of capacity strengthening sessions, workshops, and events with a focus on training for local and national government stakeholders, banks, small businesses and other stakeholders particularly in areas like climate resilient infrastructure planning, climate finance, and other sector-specific topics. (S)he will coordinate with team members and external consultant technical experts to ensure that training materials are produced, reviewed, and approved in a timely fashion. (S)he will coordinate capacity strengthening activity logistics, including coordinating dates, booking venues, arranging for necessary equipment and supplies, sending invites, and sending post-event participant surveys to inform adaptive management. (S)he will also attend training events to address IT and A/V problems, distribute sign-in sheets, and resolve any other issues that emerge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, International Development, Business Management, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience coordinating trainings, workshops, forums, or stakeholder meetings, particularly with local and national governments, small businesses and/or financial institutions.
  • Experience providing training coordination support for USAID international development programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish (required); English proficiency (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with partners, donors, and other stakeholders associated with the program.
