Social Protection Systems Strengthening in Africa

Applus+ we have been invited to tender an offer from the SEA under LOT 13 - Health, social inclusion and protection, inequalities. This is the Social Protection Systems Strengthening project in Africa.

We seek to cover the following profile:

Social protection expert for INTPA regional programme:

• Expert category: Home Based - Cat. II (>6 years of experience)
• Qualifications and skills required:
  • Master's degree in social sciences, economics or related field, or equivalent (e.g. Social Sciences Expert, etc)
  • An additional qualification in social protection reforms with a focus on Africa and/or EU policy towards Africa, will be considered as a strong asset. - Knowledge of European Commission policy in the concerned sector, as well as good understanding of the instruments governing the EU Africa relations and relevant policy framework will be considered as an asset.
  • General professional experience: - At least 6 years of experience in the sector(s) related to the lot;
    - Relevant professional experience in social protection and systems strengthening in Sub Saharan Africa.
  • Specific professional experience: - Specific professional experience in social protection policy analysis, development and program design;
    - At least three previous professional assignments delivering on analysis, formulation and/or implementation in areas related to the provision of social protection in Sub Saharan Africa aimed at strengthening systems towards advancing Universal Social Protection;
    - At least one previous assignment professional with as key objective to formulate and Action for EU INTPA/NEAR/FPI;
    - At least one previous assignment professional working in developing countries’ context, (in Africa would be an asset); - Experience as expert in EU development cooperation programs, in national development cooperation agencies, and/or with international organizations in the social protection area in Africa from a regional or continental perspective will be considered as an asset.
  • Language skills: - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French.
