Are you passionate about driving impactful international development projects? Do you have expertise in managing USAID-funded activities and a knack for fostering collaboration across diverse teams? If so, we invite you to apply for the Program Manager role at DevWorks International!

Location: At DevWorks, we value work-life balance and understand the importance of flexibility. This role offers a preferred hybrid work arrangement, with work 1-2 days per week in our office in Bethesda, Maryland. However, we will consider candidates who require a fully remote work arrangement in the U.S.

Salary: Competitive compensation is estimated at $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

About the Role
As a Program Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting USAID-funded projects from our home office. This position is perfect for someone who has proven capacity to manage operational and financial tasks of home office management, while applying critical thinking to assess and guide technical program activities. You’ll work closely and collaboratively with Chiefs of Party and country teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure achievement of project objectives and to institutionalize learning and adaptation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Provide support and troubleshooting for USAID-funded activities, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes.
  • Award Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to USAID regulations and guidelines and lead home office correspondence with the funder.
  • Project Reporting: Support project teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compelling project reports, including final editing and formatting of project deliverables.
  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, track financial performance, and collaborate with project teams and home office finance team to ensure sound financial management.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to safeguard project success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with partners, government agencies, and local stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor activities to uphold high standards and achieve project goals.
  • Capacity Building: Identify capacity building needs of project staff and work with leadership to develop training plans to enhance the skills and knowledge of project teams.
  • Proposal Development: Contribute to creating winning proposals for new USG-funded projects.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Stay informed of international development trends and best practices and share insights to drive innovation.

What We're Looking For

Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, public administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience managing USAID-funded projects, including work on both contracts and cooperative agreements, with a preference for experience in Asia (South Asia highly desirable).
  • Direct experience implementing project-level grant programs, e.g. grants under contract.
  • Deep understanding of USAID regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven skills in budget management, risk assessment, and project oversight.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities in multicultural settings.
  • Fluency in professional-level English including concise and articulate business writing.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
