Senior Fundraiser - Major Donor Relationship Manager

About the Function

Terre des Hommes is seeking a passionate Senior Fundraiser - Major Donors to play a key role in growing our donor base. In this critical role, you will not only nurture existing relationships, but also lead efforts to identify and engage new major donors, with the goal of building long-term partnerships.

With your empathy and results-oriented flair, you connect donors to our mission. By developing compelling stories and creative strategies, you stimulate investments in the protection of children from exploitation. One-on-one meetings to stimulate the involvement of interested parties or to increase existing donors and to inform them about our impact are central to your work. You work closely with various departments, such as Communications and Program Managers, to create compelling proposals and reports that emphasize the impact of our organization. You track donor involvement and contributions in our CRM system and use this data to optimize your strategies. You initiate and coordinate (exclusive) events to keep the target group involved. Finally, you offer guidance and support to less experienced team members and share best practices to improve the overall effectiveness of the fundraising program.

Terre des Hommes Nederland aims to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. And by enabling children to make their voices count. Terre des Hommes Nederland focuses on (online) sexual exploitation of children, child labour and humanitarian action. What you are going to do

As a Senior Fundraiser - Major Donor Relationship Manager, you will:

Develop and implement a strategy for fundraising from major donors, aligned with Terre des Hommes' objectives.
Build strong, personal relationships with high net worth individuals through tailored communications, one-on-one conversations and exclusive events.
Be the main point of contact for major donors and make them feel involved and valued.
Collaborate with program managers and communications to create compelling proposals and reporting that demonstrate the impact of donations.
Organize exclusive events and personal visits and give presentations to strengthen engagement and loyalty.
Report and improve fundraising results based on performance metrics.
The ideal candidate will bring the following expertise and skills

Relationship Management Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in building and strengthening relationships with high net worth donors, including long-term partnerships and increased engagement.
Strategic and creative thinking: Ability to develop strategic plans for campaigns and creatively leverage new donors and funding models.
Effective Communication: Storytelling skills to convey the mission convincingly and inspire donors to contribute to ending child exploitation.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Experience with CRM systems and analyzing data to improve strategies and create clear reports on impact and engagement.

A 1-year contract with the intention to extend to a permanent contract after 1 year.
The salary scale for this position is scale 10 and depending on experience between €3,737.77 - €4,821.39 gross per month based on a full-time (36 hours) position.
We offer a 36-hour contract, which in our organization is equivalent to a full-time workweek. The advantage of this is that you can work 4 x 9 and have one day off per week while still having a full-time contract. You can divide the hours over the week as you prefer, in consultation with your manager;
We work hybrid, so 50% in the office and 50% at home. We are quite flexible and have an eye for your work-life balance;
An office in the thriving heart of The Hague, city of international human rights and political capital.
25 days of paid leave per year based on full-time employment, with part-time days paid pro rata;
We offer a commuting allowance for the kilometers you travel by bike or provide an NS card;
Our pension plan is hosted by ASR and Terre des Hommes contributes the majority of the pension contribution.
Our new employees receive a one-time financial compensation for the purchase or furnishing of an ergonomic home workplace. We are happy to tell you more about this if applicable.
