Country Officer Ukraine (m/f/d)
We are looking for you as a Country Officer for Ukraine (m/f/d) as soon as possible .
The position is anchored in the International Cooperation department of the DRK General Secretariat and is assigned to the Operations & National Society Cooperation team. The team is responsible for the operational cooperation of the German Red Cross with its sister societies abroad. The position is intended to support the Task Force Ukraine, with the focus on project activities in Ukraine.
The employment is full-time. The employment offer is initially limited to two years.
Your tasks:
Management of the DRK projects in Ukraine, working closely with the DRK task force employees and the teams responsible for specialist topics, finance, human resources, etc.
Programmatic orientation, management, reporting, financial and personnel management, procurement, etc., in close cooperation and coordination with the foreign delegates, the department heads and the respective departments in the DRK General Secretariat
Development and analysis of project, financial and cooperation concepts, particularly with regard to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine
Security management and analysis in coordination with the management of the Taskforce Ukraine and the Security Specialist
Continuous monitoring of political and social changes in the geographical area of responsibility including analysis of possible implications for country-specific activities
Ensuring coordination of all measures with sister societies, ICRC, Federation of RKRH societies and other relevant actors
Preparation of status reports, final reports and decision templates, communication with donors
Fundraising including preparation of project proposals
Reporting, preparation for public relations, presentations and participation in events
We expect:
Relevant university/technical college degree
Identification with the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
Sound knowledge of project management (PCM) in the humanitarian field
Experience in project management at AA, BMZ, ECHO, DEVCO, EU Trust Funds and other donors
Very good knowledge and experience in monitoring and reporting
Knowledge of the DRK's work abroad and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
Empathy and openness to foreign cultures
Ability to think and work in complex contexts
Independent work, strong teamwork skills
Fluent English
High self-motivation and stress management
Willingness to travel abroad, suitability for tropical conditions
Good IT skills (Office 365)
