LAW is looking for an experienced, and enthusiastic Communications and Outreach Coordinator to help expand the Rohingya Crisis programme’s communications reach and impact, in particular through social media engagement, advocacy campaigns, and traditional media activities that will showcase and amplify our work, as well as to reach our clients, their communities and the broader public to advocate on behalf of individuals and communities who have suffered human rights violations and abuses.

LAW has a particular focus on gender equality and sexual and gender-based violence, the rule of law and accountability and transformative justice - working to bring justice to those who need it most.
LAW’s portfolio includes multiple ground-breaking cases, which utilise creative legal strategies on behalf of victims and survivors from some of the most challenging contexts, representing more than 1000 clients. LAW’S WORK IN BANGLADESH
LAW’s ground-breaking programme in Bangladesh seeks to ensure meaningful Rohingya participation in the ongoing international justice processes seeking accountability for their persecution in Myanmar, including engagement with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (The Gambia v. Myanmar); the ongoing investigation by the Officer of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the work of the Independent Investigative Mechanism on Myanmar (IIMM). Additionally, LAW undertakes innovative strategic litigation on behalf of more than 400 Rohingya clients and ensures Rohingya voices are prioritised throughout its advocacy.
A key aspect of the programme is LAW’s network of over 60 Rohingya Survivor Advocates, who are given ongoing training to provide legal information to the survivors of sexual and gender-based violence about international justice mechanisms related to the Rohingya Crisis and provide them support in accessing services. In addition to empowering Rohingya women and girls, LAW works closely with male and Hijra (third gender, transgender, intersex) survivors of sexual and gender-based violence to ensure their access to justice.
MORE ABOUT THIS POSITION
Where? The ideal candidate will be based in South Asia or South-East Asia region. This is a remote/ home-based position with international travel opportunities. You must have the right to work in your preferred country of location. Travel to field office(s) in Cox’s bazar, Bangladesh or the region may be required.
Duration? This position is funded and available for 12 months with the possibility to be extended subject to funding.
The position is on a full-time basis with the possibility of working part-time for the right candidate.

More detail: You are a team player with significant expertise in communications, advocacy and external representation and advocacy, including media engagements or journalism, along with producing, designing, and developing communication materials for national and international platforms to cover a wide range of audiences.
Role Overview:
The Communications and Outreach Coordinator will report directly to LAW’s Programme Manager in Bangladesh, working in close collaboration with the Communications Manager based in Geneva and will promote LAW's work in the Bangladesh and the sub region, and increase visibility, profile key events and advocacy and outreach activities.
