Salary: £40,505 per annum

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters.

IRW’s International Finance Team is recruiting for the position of ‘Donor Reporting Accountant’ to join its dynamic team on a 12 months fixed term basis, to be based out of its offices in Birmingham, UK. The organisation is currently operating to a hybrid working model.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Qualified Accountant or studying towards (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW).
  • Good management and financial accounting experience, including a pro-active approach to budget monitoring, reporting etc.
  • Ability to manage and supervise finance staff.
  • Ability to work independently and provide initiative in improving international finance functions.
  • To establish good working relationships with donors, Country Offices and IRW departments and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial managers.
  • Demonstrable ability to think strategically and highlight areas of future concern and risk.
  • Ability to manage and supervise finance and non-finance staff in multiple and remote locations.
  • Experience of conforming with external donor and statutory compliance requirement.
  • Excellent IT skills and extensive experience/knowledge on using Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and needs.
  • Ability to develop and build capacities of staff.
  • Disposition of a team player.
