Technical Coordinator ProWOOD Ruanda + (m/f)

For a Partner Africa Project between the Internationaler Bund e.V. (IB) and workers associations of the wood sector in Rwanda, we are looking for:

 Technical Coordinator ProWOOD + (m/f)

Location: Rwanda, Rubengera

Type of contract: Fixed-term employment contract

Contract duration: 01.02.2025 to 31.12.2027.

With more than 14,000 employees, the Internationaler Bund (IB) is one of the largest service providers for youth, social and educational work in Germany. Our guiding principle is "Strengthening Being Human".

The project to be implemented by the IB is funded through the PartnerAfrika Programme of sequa gGmbH within the framework of the Special Initiative on Training and Employment of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project aims to enable selected Rwandan vocational training institutions and associations to offer innovative training and further education courses for young people and skilled workers in the value-added timber industry, thus strengthening the production capacities of Rwandan SMEs.

Your tasks / responsibilities

·        support planning and coordinate activities, training and assessment logistics in Rwanda,

·        coordinate and conduct technical training activities in Wood- technology,

·        collaboration with national & international trainers, experts and assessors

·        organizational and technical support for the ProWood+ Project

·        representing the proWOOD+ Project activities as team representative in Rwanda

Our requirements / Your qualifications

·        L5 Carpentry and Wood-technology

·        at least 5 year of professional experience as technician in wood technology

·        knowledge and working experience in a company setting is an advantage

·        knowledge of technical project management

·        good organisational skills

·        Proficiency in the English language, written and spoken

·        professional use of MS office

·        advanced use of CAD drawing

·        applicational knowledge in CNC operating technology is an advantage

• willingness to travel and readiness for consulting and coordination activities in rural areas
• willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management

·        experience in BMZ projects (experience in sequa projects will be considered an advantage) for at least 3 years

• car driving license
