About Us
The Asia Foundation (TAF) is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives and expanding opportunities across Asia and the Pacific. Informed by 70 years of experience and deep local knowledge, our work is focused on governance, climate action, gender equity, education and leadership, inclusive growth, and international cooperation. We have offices in 17 countries and work in more than 20 countries across Asia and the Pacific. We are supported by headquarters in San Francisco and an office in Washington DC. Our funding comes from a diverse array of bilateral and multilateral development agencies, foundations, corporations, and individuals.
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic andcreative Senior Social Media Specialist to enhance the Foundation’s online presence and engage our audience across various platforms.
Our key audience is International Development, International Relations, and Social Impact communities (across the world) with an interest in the well-being of the people in Asia and the Pacific. This includes individuals, community-based organizations, donors, government officials, policy makers, opinion leaders, academics, peer organizations, non-corporate and corporate foundations, socially responsible corporations, and think tanks. While previous experience with this audience is a big plus, we are open to candidates that have proven experience of creating smart, compelling engagement with similar audiences.
We need a thinker and doer who can expertly craft and execute a social media strategy that strengthens The Asia Foundation brand, showcases our deep expertise across the countries we work, highlights our program activities and impact, as well as gives a platform to our partners, fellows, and staff to share their perspectives.
Success will require collaborating with our 17 country offices to elevate and shape the news and insights that are shared for social/digital, identify and pursue stories others may not see, and make our storytelling more dynamic and compelling. The ability to understand local, regional, and international points of view is critical.
