About Terre des Hommes

Terre des Hommes Nederland aims to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. And by enabling children to make their voices count. Terre des Hommes Nederland focuses on (online) sexual exploitation of children, child labor and humanitarian action. Purpose of this position

As a relationship manager for charity shops, you are the point of contact for the national shops and volunteers spread throughout the Netherlands. Your portfolio consists of shops to which you mainly provide service and a sounding board.

You like working with people and building trust and connection. The fact that our Terre des Hommes shops are run by volunteers is an extra motivation for you. You see the challenge and values in a collaboration with people who work unpaid for a good cause.

Position in the organization

You report to the Manager Retail Operations & Volunteer Support and are part of a team of 7. This team focuses on continuing the existing local and national store network and volunteer support and involvement.

Together with the Retail Communication & Business Development team, we form the store support team, with a total of 10/11 team members. The store support team is responsible for a well-functioning store network, where customers and volunteers feel at home and supported. This network consists of more than 40 stores and 1700 involved volunteers. The store support team offers the entire network experience in Retail, Sales, volunteer involvement, administration and legal support.

You work closely with the regional coordinators of stores and volunteers for intervision and sharing of best practices, colleagues from Finance & Control and also contribute to the operational support of

What are you going to do..

The relationship manager of charity stores focuses on relationship management, providing service and making the core teams independent (team of volunteers that coordinates the daily operations in the store). You fulfill a function at operational level and are primarily responsible for the following areas:

People

You embrace the idea that the volunteers are the basis of the stores and are responsible for realizing complete core teams and sufficiently large volunteer teams. To this end, you work together with your colleagues from store support and the volunteer recruitment coordinator.

You are responsible for a good working atmosphere and a safe working environment in the stores, you monitor the implementation of the appreciation policy and the implementation of the safety checklist. As an inspiration, you move the core teams to run the store as independently as possible.

You act as an escalation option in the event of conflicts. Your span of control is between 24 and 40 core team members and 180 to 300 volunteers.

Result

You have everything in your backpack to make the relationship with the stores and volunteers a success and you are able to meet the service needs of the stores in a pragmatic and efficient way. The stores are an important part of the fundraising strategy of Terre des Hommes Nederland.

More specifically:

Realize the set goals:
6 to 10 stores spread throughout the Netherlands
You focus on cost reduction and profit optimization.
Draw up an annual plan and budget for the stores and monitor progress with the manager retail operations & volunteer support.
Coordinates cash control and financial store administration.
Provides input to the strategic annual and multi-year plan of the TdH stores foundation.
Take advantage of opportunities and developments in the market that fit within the strategy of the Terre des Hommes organization.

Policy Implementation

Implements the volunteer and store policy.
Provides input for new policy and working methods (including contract management, community activation and online activities)
Is responsible for safety, ARBO and compliance with relevant laws, regulations and compliance within the stores in your own portfolio.
Your task area has a lot of overlap with colleagues from store support. You work closely with them to improve the service level for the entire store network.
Actively shares your own knowledge in the field of relationship management and service-oriented approach to improve the service level of the store support team.
Is responsible for the entire operation of business operations and store systems (cash register, accounting, utilities & telecom, etc.).

Local network and local partners

Mobilizes the core team to make a positive contribution to local people, organizations, entrepreneurs and governments to deliver and to commit to the stores.
Stimulates the core teams in finding, developing and maintaining partnerships, sponsors and a local network around the stores as well as online visibility.

+3 years of work experience in a coordinating position that revolves around people, relationship management and achieving results together in a social enterprise
Has knowledge of and experience in relationship management.
Has knowledge of and experience in working with volunteers.
Has knowledge and experience in service-oriented work and facilitating a commercial operation in a social enterprise.
Is a real motivator.
Is used to being part of a team and working in an organized manner.
Is able to work in a dynamic environment.
Has experience in organizing activities and events.
Has financial insight.
Has knowledge and experience in making a financial budget and monitoring budgets.
Speaks and writes fluent Dutch.
Has a driver's license B and own car or is willing to travel with the NS.
Lives in the middle of the country and is willing to visit shops spread throughout the Netherlands. Is willing to work 1 day a week at the office in The Hague, be on the road one day and work from home one day.

A contract for 1 year with the intention to then extend to a permanent contract. The salary scale for this position is scale 8 and depending on experience between €3,289.56 - €4,140.08 gross per month based on 36 hours

25 days of paid leave per year based on full-time employment, pro rata for part-time days;
