About the Consortium and the Programme
The Countering Hate, Furthering Rights is a Consortium running a regional programme in Africa that has as its overall objective to further SRHR, with a special focus on inclusion and non-discrimination.
The Programme Office based in Nairobi, Kenya will be responsible for programme management and coordination, thematic and technical support, financial management and compliance. The Programme Office will comprise of the Programme Coordinator, who will manage and coordinate the programme, take operational decisions, and consolidate reports; A Thematic Advisor who will provide thematic and technical support to consortium members and grant recipients, and monitor implementation of the programme; A Finance & Compliance Officer who will manage finance, coordinate reporting and audits, and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
Working alongside human rights actors, the Consortium is seeking a diverse team of persons with relevant experience to fill the three positions of; Programme Coordinator, Thematic Advisor, and Finance and Compliance Officer.Therole and minimum requirements of the Programme Coordinator are detailed below:
Programme Coordinator
Main role
The Programme Coordinator will primarily play a pivotal role in the successful implementation and delivery of the Countering Hate, Furthering Rights Programme. The overall role of the Programme Coordinator is to lead and coordinate the programme, while ensuring that the action delivers on the programmes strategic objectives, priorities and expected results. The position provides expertise, particularly lead in the delivery of programme implementation action with the Consortium and Programme Office through quality control, timescale planning, coordination, process connected the strategic objectives, and risk management, whilst overseeing the programme implementation in countries and liaising with Consortium partners in countries and on regional level. They will lead the programme management, and establishment of a sub-granting mechanism and ensure the sensitivity aspects are fulfilled within the action. They will also be accountable for furthering Rights standardframeworks, donor guidelines, fostering needs-driven coordination, facilitating linkages between Consortium member and partners to improve the effectiveness and impact of the Programme. They are mandated to take operational decisions, monitor co-applicant's implementation and write consolidated reports.
The Programme Coordinator is part of the Programme Office for the Countering Hate, Furthering Rights programme. The Programme Coordinator is line managed by the Head of the Programme Management Committee (PMC), and regularly reports to the PMC about the programme progress, challenges and suggestions on how to address them as well as the good practices that need to be scaled up in the consortium. The Programme Coordinator will line-manage the Thematic Advisor and the Finance and Compliance Officer.
It is of importance that the Programme Coordinator has the experience of applying a faith-based perspective and intersectional on the implementation of the programme.
