Team Leader- Communications N'Djamena, Chad

Key Expert No. 1: Team Leader (440 working days based in N'Djamena, Chad)

The expert will act as an advisor to the EU Delegation for the design and implementation of communication and visibility activities tailored to the Chadian context. They will also coordinate the team of non-key experts in organizing all EU communication and visibility events/activities in Chad during the contract period.

The key expert will be based full-time (100%) in N'Djamena, Chad.

Qualifications and skills

• A Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, media, journalism, or a related field.
• In the absence of a Master’s degree, a university degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines, supplemented by an additional five (5) years of professional experience beyond the specific experience required below.
• Full proficiency in spoken and written French and a professional working proficiency in English (minimum B2 level). Knowledge of Arabic would be considered an advantage.

General professional experience

• At least ten years of experience in project management in the field of communication, including communication campaigns and the implementation of external communication strategies.

Specific professional experience

• At least five years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• At least five years of experience in designing and implementing strategic communication activities and campaigns, including media-related activities.
• Experience managing a team of at least five people for the organization of at least three communication and visibility activities in the past five years.
• Professional experience in the Sahel region/Sub-Saharan Africa would be considered an advantage.
