Functional responsibilities


1. Site Supervision Support

  • Assist in overseeing project progress and quality to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support the supervision of construction activities, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions and design specifications.
  • Monitor and measure work progress against the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) as per the contract.
  • Assist the Project Engineering staff in preparing project-related documentation, including progress reports, site monitoring reports, stakeholder meeting minutes, engineer’s instructions, variation orders, contractor bill reviews, certifications, handover documents, and close-out reports.
  • Identify and report potential risks, recommending corrective actions to the Senior Project Engineer.
  • Support the overall management of construction activities to ensure completion within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of solicitation documents, including BoQs, technical specifications, and drawings.
  • Oversee dimensional control, site surveying, and engineering supervision of the works.


2. Reporting

  • Assist in accurate and timely reporting of progress and conditions on-site through daily site records prepared and submitted by the engineering team.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports (or as requested) summaries of the progress of contractor activities, quality control issues, health & safety issues, environmental issues, resourcing and scheduling issues, and any other relevant pertinent facts as required.
  • Produce any appropriate documentation identified by the Construction Manager professionally and accurately.


3. Knowledge Building and Knowledge Sharing

  • Contribute to the project capacity-building process; highlight challenges associated with the project and feedback into a continuous improvement cycle.
  • Provide support in facilitating training and knowledge transfer to national/contractor personnel including advice on good construction and engineering practices, environmental management practices, and appropriate health and safety standards during construction.
  • Contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for development planning and knowledge building.


4. HSSE, QAQC and Reporting oUCollect activities

  • Assist in supervising health and safety activities according to approved plans and regulations for the site under his / her jurisdiction.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards.
  • Support site inspections, safety audits, and awareness sessions.
  • Assist in monitoring the implementation of safety measures and reporting incidents.
  • Assist in overseeing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Support inspections, material testing, and resolution of non-conformities.
  • Help maintain proper documentation of quality control activities.
  • Assist in utilizing oUCollect software for site reporting and data collection.
  • Support the accurate and timely input of project progress, HSSE compliance, and quality control findings.
  • Contribute to maintaining comprehensive project records and generating periodic reports

 

Education/Experience/Language requirements


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (secondary education).
  • A valid driving license and ability to travel independently is required.


Work Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in infrastructure management is required.
  • Past work experience with the UN/UNOPS and/or similar international/multicultural organization is an asset.


Language skills

  • Working knowledge of English is required.
  • Fluency in either Uzbek and Russian is required.
