Know your Project

The project aims at improving the quality of the existing service provision through service delivery platforms and adopting gender-responsive approaches that address health systems gaps in (i) human resource capacity, (ii) supply chain management of essential nutrition products, (iii) monitoring and accountability processes, (iv) health management information systems and processes including capacity on using data for decision making, (v) program budgetary planning processes along with (vi) approaches towards community behaviours focusing on socio-cultural and gender norms.

About you

You will have a Master's degree from a recognized university in one of the following areas: Nutrition, Public health, International development and/or a related field. Minimum 10 years' work experience with International NGOs, UN agencies or similar working on public health, maternal and child health, nutrition related programs with at least 5 years of experience working in Philippines in a senior project management role. You will also have strong experience in financial management, including budgeting, reporting and ensuring compliance with donor requirements alongwith good knowledge of government nutrition policies and programs in the Philippines.

Excellent English language skill (read, write and speak) is a prerequisite. Fluency in local language is also required.

About the role

Project Director will be providing leadership over this project that aims to improve the health and nutritional well-being of pregnant women and children under 5 in four provinces in the Philippines. The Project Director is accountable for overall operational and technical leadership and the direct management of the project. This includes responsibility for day-to-day planning, implementation, financial management and progress tracking against project deliverables, to ensure targets are met, and technical quality is assured. In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Facilitate the articulation of project scope, goals and deliverables and ensure they are understood by project staff, partners and stakeholders.
  • Cultivate and manage strong, collaborative relationships with the implementing partner, local government authorities (LGAs), and other key stakeholders. Ensure open communication and a shared understanding of the project. Ensure capacity building of the implementing partners, engaging project team and technical advisors on various technical and program aspects as per the project goals and objectives for effective implementation of the project activities.
  • Ensure all project funds are managed as per the donor guidelines as well as NI accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for all financial reporting to the donor.
  • Develop cash flow projections, monitor actuals and review variance analysis to ensure the project operates within its budgetary parameters.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key project stakeholders and partners to ensure the project is harmonized with other donor funded projects/programs and facilitates government leadership and ownership.
