Terre des Hommes Netherlands aims to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. And by enabling children to make their voices count. Terre des Hommes focuses on stopping (online) sexual exploitation of children, child labour, also in crisis situations. For each of these forms of child exploitation, Terre des Hommes develops and implements projects and programmes through local partners, mainly in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Purpose of this function

Are you a driven and accurate team player with a passion for administrative support and contributing to successful fundraising campaigns? We are looking for a Fundraising Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the fundraising and campaign process.

Together with your colleague fundraising assistant, you will be part of the Private Market team within the Resource Mobilisation department. You will work closely with your colleagues to support donors, manage data and ensure the smooth running of the overall fundraising activities. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of fundraising processes, from administration to communication.

What are you going to do…

As a Fundraising Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the fundraising process and providing administrative and operational support to the team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of fundraising activities and maintaining relationships with our donors. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing donor data in our CRM system Salesforce and ensuring the highest possible quality of this data.
Processing data from telemarketing campaigns and following up on the resulting actions.
Processing reversals (rejected or refunded payments).
Processing and handling periodic donations.
Checking and partly coordinating the monthly direct debits, and ensuring that donations are processed correctly and on time.
You provide broad administrative support to the fundraising team. It is a hands-on function in which you actively participate in the practical implementation of fundraising activities.
Supporting our external Donor Service by acting as a backup: when they are unable to answer a question, you will take over to assist donors via phone and email and resolve issues, ensuring a positive experience.
The ideal candidate will bring the following expertise and skills

The ideal candidate brings the following expertise and skills:

A completed MBO education, preferably in an administrative, communications or other relevant field.
At least 3 years of work experience in an administrative or support position, preferably within fundraising or a related sector.
Experience working in a CRM system, such as Salesforce, and managing data. You are accurate.
Organizational skills and experience in coordinating administrative processes.
Experience in supporting campaigns and events, and providing operational support to colleagues and external partners.
Communication skills: You know how to support donors, answer questions and maintain relationships via both telephone and written communication.
Proactive attitude and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
Although English is widely spoken within the organization, we are looking for someone with an excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written, as contact with donors is largely in Dutch.

What we offer!

A contract for 28-32 hours.
A 1-year contract with the intention to extend to a permanent contract.
The salary scale for this position is scale 8 and depending on experience between €3,522.60 and €4,432.50 gross per month based on a full-time (36 hour) employment contract.
Flexible working with a hybrid working model (50% in the office and 50% at home).

25 days of vacation per year for a full-time employment contract.
