Job Title: Team Leader – International Key Expert
Project: Climate Change-Adapted Urban Development Programme (CCAUD), Phase II – Khulna, Bangladesh
Location: Khulna, Bangladesh
Sector: Urban Development / Climate Resilience / Infrastructure

Project Objective

To strengthen the adaptive capacity and reduce exposure of Khulna’s vulnerable population to climate change effects through climate-resilient infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team for the successful implementation of project activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and training in:
    • Project, contract, and financial management (for Khulna City Corporation - KCC).
    • Urban drainage O&M (including ESHS aspects).
    • Climate-resilient urban planning.
  • Develop and implement awareness and social accountability campaigns in project neighborhoods.
  • Strengthen KCC’s capacity in applying national/international ESHS standards.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate degree in:
    • Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Municipal Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant international work experience.
  • Proven project management record.
  • At least two (2) reference projects of similar size/scope as Team Leader or Project Manager, with minimum 5 PM (intermittent) input.
  • Minimum 10 years leading multidisciplinary teams internationally.
  • Experience designing and managing capacity-building/asset management (AM) programs in urban development.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills (including stakeholder workshops and community-level programs).
  • Experience in South Asia or Project region.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience in urban drainage / stormwater management.
  • Previous work experience in Bangladesh.
  • Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is an advantage.
