Introduction

Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS) is an international consulting company (https://iqls.net/ ) with over 15 years of experience in laboratory science, aiming to strengthen laboratory capacities and systems worldwide. IQLS has started a new project in El Salvador with the Global Fund and the Ministry of Health to provide technical assistance and  oversee the construction and commissioning of a BSL-3 laboratory in El Salvador. In order to facilitate our work on site, we are looking for a fully bilingual Spanish/English local representative to support our international laboratory biosafety and construction experts.

IQLS ha iniciado un nuevo proyecto en El Salvador con el Fondo Mundial y el Ministerio de Salud para brindar asistencia técnica y supervisar la construcción y puesta en marcha de un laboratorio con certificación BSL-3. Para facilitar nuestro trabajo in situ, buscamos un representante local bilingüe español/inglés para apoyar a nuestros expertos internacionales en bioseguridad y construcción de laboratorios.

What You'll Do

• Promote and facilitate communication with national stakeholders

• Participate in regular meetings (on-site and remote) between stakeholders and the construction company representatives to support IQLS experts

• Regularly conduct on-site construction visits to observe the progress

• Comply with all safety requirements during construction site visits

• Report and debrief IQLS international experts on the outcome of all on-site meetings and implementation progress

• Participate in regular teleconferences with IQLS, stakeholders and the construction company as needed

• Provide support and follow-up actions on any issues raised in the meeting

• Provide translation to IQLS experts during online meetings and on-site visits (IQLS experts will conduct on-site visits for 5 days once a quarter)

• Provide document translation when needed

• Contribute to report writing when requested

• Perform other duties related to project implementation as requested by the project team lead

• Maintain a positive working relationship with the Ministry of Health staff, laboratory strengthening partners and IQLS staff

• Adhere to IQLS’s working practice and regulations

• Report to the project team lead

Your Experience

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or University in construction specialties OR Laboratory sciences disciplines, OR public health

• Experience: 2-5 years

• Knowledge of laboratory biosafety requirements

• Experience in laboratory and/or medical facility construction is a plus

• Proficiency in Spanish and English is a must
