COSPE, an organization committed for over 40 years to international cooperation, social justice, and migration, actively promotes diversity and equity in its workplaces by ensuring equal access to professional opportunities for women, racialized individuals, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other underrepresented groups. COSPE is seeking a Project Coordinator based in Tunisia.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the “YouthCare4Planet” project (co-funded by the European Union under the INTERREG NEXT MED programme), ensuring compliance with internal organizational procedures and donor guidelines, while maintaining constant coordination with the project team and partners. In particular, the candidate must maintain regular communication with COSPE’s Country Representative, the Heads of the Maghreb and Mashrek Regions, and all partner representatives involved in the project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, monitor, and supervise the implementation of the YouthCare4Planet project
  • Prepare biweekly, monthly, and annual narrative reports and supervise the drafting of financial reports in line with donor requirements and in coordination with the Financial Manager
  • Ensure communication and coordination between COSPE and the project partners in Egypt, Greece, and Tunisia, and foster partnerships among local and international institutions and stakeholders involved in the project
  • Organize and lead Project Management and coordination meetings in Egypt, Greece, and Tunisia, maintaining relations with the donor
  • Plan and manage short-term expert missions as foreseen by the project
  • Manage the project budget in collaboration with the Financial Manager, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and COSPE’s financial and administrative procedures, in coordination with national, regional, and central administrative departments
  • Collaborate with the Financial Manager and the M&E Manager to define and monitor project progress and indicators through the development and updating of the Monitoring Plan
  • Work closely with the Communication Manager to ensure the implementation of the project’s communication activities
  • Coordinate, supervise, and guide the project team
  • Participate in regular staff meetings organized by COSPE in the Maghreb and Mashrek regions
  • Contribute to the identification of potential donors and the development of complementary project proposals

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Cooperation, Social Sciences, Economics, or related fields
  • Excellent knowledge of the procedures, rules, and funding mechanisms of major donors, including the EU
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in managing and coordinating EU-funded projects/programmes, preferably under the ENI/INTERREG framework
  • Previous experience in managing and implementing projects aimed at strengthening CSOs, promoting youth participation, and advancing climate justice
  • Fluency in English and French (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian and Arabic is an asset

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work effectively in an international environment with complex administrative procedures, including those of AICS and the EU
  • Skills in proposing and implementing innovative solutions for inclusive management, advocacy, and compliance with local and international regulations
  • Proficiency in IT tools, including MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and online project management resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a creative and problem-solving approach
  • Proven ability to work in multicultural teams, even under pressure, to meet project goals
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and personal accountability for task completion

Duty Station: Tunis,

Contract type: co.co.co (collaborazione coordinata e continuativa) for expatriates, with a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Contract duration: initial 12-month contract, renewable.
