Senior Finance Professional - Local Fund Agent- Cameroon

SGS The Netherlands office currently has four LFA teams in Latin America, Southern Africa and Oceania and we are planning to submit a proposal to TGF for LFA Cameroon.  The Local Fund Agent works closely with the Country Team at the Global Fund Secretariat to evaluate and monitor activities before, during and after the implementation of a grant.

The position is part-time and mostly remote with the occasional field visit.

 

Requirements of the Senior Finance Professional:

Ø  An internationally recognised professional finance or accounting qualification

e.g. Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant Certification, Chartered Financial Analyst or Fédération des Experts-Comptables Européens etc.

Ø  A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a financial role, preferably with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience related to:

 

o   financial accounting, with the ability to review and analyze accounting transactions;

 

o   reviewing and negotiating budgets;

 

o   financial management systems, with the ability to review and assess internal controls and financial processes and procedures and provide recommendations for improvement;

 

o   review of financial statements (including income and expenditure statements, balance sheets and cash reconciliation statements); and

 

o   review and interpretation of audit reports.

 

Ø  Must have good written and spoken English and French.

 

The Senior Finance Professional is expected to:

ü  Have good knowledge of the local accounting framework and financial management systems.
