About Terre des Hommes
Terre des Hommes Nederland aims to protect children by preventing and stopping child exploitation. And by enabling children to make their voices count. Terre des Hommes Nederland focuses on (online) sexual exploitation of children, child labour and humanitarian action. For each of these forms of child exploitation, Terre des Hommes Nederland develops and implements projects and programmes through local partners, mainly in Asia, Africa and Europe. Join us!
Our store network will grow in the coming years! The Terre des Hommes charity stores have existed since 1983 and are an indispensable link in our visibility and provide a structural financial contribution to our mission. Hundreds of volunteers are committed daily via 43 stores.
To end child exploitation worldwide, we need to mobilize people and grow our store network. Our team is therefore looking for an experienced Retailer!
Do you also get completely happy from an inspiring shop interior? Do you cycle around the block for that one shop with that good story? Do you know exactly why a shop does/doesn't succeed?
Do you like to use your talent for work with impact? Our store network is looking for people who like to work in the area where commercial thinking and really making a difference overlap. Does this make you happy? Then this is the vacancy you are looking for!
Purpose of this function
You will soon have the inspiring task of opening several new charity shops each year. Together with your manager, you will search for the ideal location, determine the assortment and sketch the first contours of a new shop.
Once you receive the key to a new building, you will experience that local stakeholders are happy to support our work by helping out. People spontaneously join as volunteers and donate the most beautiful items in large numbers. This goodwill is the foundation of the store network.
In addition to opening new stores, you will develop plans to guide a few existing stores per year with specific development issues. Think of redevelopment with available resources, a complete redevelopment or opening a second store next to an existing store. You will use the mission, the store concept, the budget and valuable lessons learned earlier as a basis for developing both new stores and existing stores.
Together with your manager, you ensure that our charity stores have a recognizable signature with an inspiring message that attracts the right customers, volunteers and partners.
