Overview:

IBTCI is seeking a Field Coordinator or Local Evaluation Partner to support the logistics, stakeholder engagement, and contextualization of evaluation activities for UNICEF programs in one or more countries in the WCA region. This individual or firm will serve as a key liaison between the evaluation team and field-level actors, including UNICEF offices and their stakeholders.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate local permissions and stakeholder outreach in target countries.
  • Coordinate data collection logistics, including enumerator mobilization, transportation, and venue access.
  • Oversee adherence to COVID-19 or security protocols during fieldwork.
  • Provide local insight on cultural, political, or logistical barriers to data collection.
  • Support quality assurance through spot checks, debriefs, and translation review.
  • Contribute to contextual adaptation of tools and recommendations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in field coordination or local partner role in evaluation or research.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with local governance structures, languages, and customs.
  • Experience working with UN agencies or international NGOs preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in local languages and working knowledge of English or French, depending on the country.
  • Experience with child-focused or protection-related projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and logistical coordination skills.

Working Environment:

Remote with international travel up to 25%, including to field and hard-to-reach locations.

Work Authorization:

Must be authorized to work in the consultant’s country of residence. IBTCI does not sponsor visas for consultants.
