Position Description: The Development and Engagement Manager of Nadia’s Initiative in Germany is responsible for implementing the priorities of the organization as envisioned by President and Founder Nadia Murad and approved by the organization’s board and membership. The Manager will support Nadia’s work by collaborating with the NI team and by executing programs in Germany with a particular emphasis on Nadia Murad’s advocacy and the refugee community.
Position Basics:

- Position: Full-time, salaried
- Supervisors: NI Germany’s Directors
- Start date: September 2025
- Salary band: 55.000 - 65.000 EUR per annum dependent on experience
Job Functions:
- Engagement: Events and Communications
- Through consultations with NI’s directors, plan events and programs aimed at aiding the refugee community and at supporting NI’s advocacy mission.
- Stakeholder engagement – building strong, long-term relationships
- Event planning and publicity
- Budget management
- Communications and reporting on activities.
- Prepare NI’s key materials and messages for a German audience through the website, newsletter, publications, and more.
- Assist Nadia in planning and preparation for advocacy trips as requested
- Development: Fundraising and Operations
- Seek out fundraising opportunities within Germany and the EU
- Write proposals and reports for donors
- Communicate with the association’s membership as requested
- Ensure compliance, alongside professionals, with German law, tax, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in the nonprofit sector or other mission-related sectors
- Experience with fundraising and building relationships with donors
- Native-level German and ability to work in and translate text from English to German is required.
- Strong track record of working with a board or management committee effectively
- Passion for a survivor and community-centric approach that are at the bedrock of NI’s values, as well as an interest in NI’s mission area.
- Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, and in groups both small and large
- Self-starter comfortable working very independently most days
