Consultant Profile
- Proven experience (5+ years) in advocacy work within civil society, humanitarian, or development sectors in Ukraine and/or neighboring countries;
- Prior experience designing and delivering trainings for experienced or mid-senior level participants;
- Strong understanding of conflict-sensitive advocacy approaches;
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and writing skills;
- Ability to deliver training in English or Ukrainian.
Purpose
To engage an experienced Trainer-Consultant who will assess needs, design and deliver an interactive online training on advocacy for a group of experienced civil society professionals.
Scope of Work
The Trainer-Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Preparation Phase:
- Develop a short needs assessment tool (e.g., online survey) to identify specific interests and gaps among training participants;
- Analyze survey responses and adjust training focus accordingly;
- Design an 8-hour online training program tailored for advanced-level practitioners;
- Develop training materials, presentations, case studies, and interactive exercises;
- Coordinate with DKH for scheduling and logistical arrangements.
- Delivery Phase:
- Facilitate an 8-hour online training session (may be split into 2 half-days or 1 full day). The sessions should be delivered no later than Sep 25, 2025.
- Ensure interactive facilitation, incorporating real-life advocacy challenges and examples relevant to the Ukrainian wartime context;
- Support peer learning and exchange among participants.
- Post-Training Phase:
- Collect and analyze participants' feedback;
- Submit a short report summarizing key takeaways, lessons learned, and recommendations for follow-up;
- Share all final materials and resources used during the training.
Expected Content (indicative, not exhaustive)
- Strategic advocacy approaches during conflict or protracted crises;
- Identifying and influencing key stakeholders (national and international);
- Power mapping and message framing;
- Ethical considerations and do-no-harm in advocacy, considering the Portection-related activities of DKH partners;
- Engaging media and digital platforms effectively;
- Collaboration with coalitions and networks;
- Monitoring and evaluating advocacy efforts.
Deliverables
- Advocacy training needs assessment tool and summary analysis;
- Detailed agenda and tailored training materials;
- Facilitation of a high-quality online training;
- Final report with recommendations and participant feedback analysis.
Timeline
The consultancy is expected to take place over a 4–6 week period between [August -September 2025]. The training should be delivered no later than September 25, 2025.
