WWF-Myanmar is now inviting applications for a Forest Programme Officer based in Yangon, Myanmar. 

  1. Background

  1. Major Function 

The Forest Programme Officer is responsible for overseeing the implementation, coordination, and communication of the Global Mangrove Alliance project.  The Forest officer is also responsible for technical backstopping of the partners for the implementation of the project and other forest related program initiates. 

  1. Major Responsibilitie

  • Ensure implementation of project activities in accordance with the workplan and budget.  

  • Monitor the project progress and update the monitoring tool in close coordination with technical staff and M&E team. 

  • Work with project team and partners to ensure youth empowerment, women empowerment and social inclusion approaches in all phases of project design, planning and implementation.  

  • Coordinate delivery of training, technical assistance, and community outreach activities. 

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key programmatic counterparts, including implementing partners, donor representatives & community representatives.  

  • Organize and lead general coordination meetings to represent programmatic issues and stay up-to-date on partners' changing strategies.  

  • Provide inputs to communications products/campaigns to ensure appropriate, relevant and accurate information will be published to promote the image of the organization and project activities.  

  • Disseminate any technical reports to relevant donors and stakeholders.

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree in natural resource management, ecology, forestry and conservation or in related fields 

  • Qualification in Project Management Knowledge 

  • Knowledge of conservation, livelihoods, and natural resource management matters especially on mangrove related field   

  • Knowledge of gender equality, youth engagement and empowerment, social inclusion and resilience principles 

  • Excellent understanding of development partnerships, fund-raising, donor strategies, functions, and international relations  

  • 3-5 years of experience in leading and managing project and programs 

  • Proven experience of managing programmes funded by a diversity of sources including aid agencies, private sector donors
