Role Summary
The International Business Development Manager – US will play a strategic role in expanding Forvis
Mazars’ footprint across US development, research, and advisory sectors. This position requires a
dynamic professional with a strong understanding of social sector research, policy advisory, and
business development within the US context.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and managing proposals, responding to RFPs and
RFIs, facilitating client meetings and presentations, conducting market research, and building long-term
relationships with government, donor, and private sector clients.
This role combines business acumen with sectoral expertise in agriculture, health, education, public
policy, and impact evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationship Management
• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and direct
client engagements in US.
• Lead business development initiatives targeting government agencies, donors, NGOs, and
international organizations active in US social and development sectors.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations, and proposal briefings to promote Forvis Mazars’
expertise and service offerings.
• Liaise with clients and partners to build strong, long-term relationships and ensure satisfaction
across all engagements.
• Represent Forvis Mazars in external meetings, conferences, and networking events across US.
• Maintain business intelligence on emerging opportunities, competitor activities, and policy
developments.
Proposal & Project Leadership
• Design and develop winning proposals aligned with US government and donor requirements.
• Coordinate and manage RFP/RFI responses, ensuring technical, financial, and administrative
compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams and subject-matter experts to develop high-quality project
proposals and implementation plans.
• Review methodologies, data collection tools, and evaluation frameworks to ensure rigour and
quality.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals, capability statements, and concept notes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Advisory
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops, and meetings with government agencies,
donors, and research institutions.
• Engage with US community representatives and Indigenous groups to ensure culturally
inclusive approaches.
• Support project teams in aligning deliverables with client and funding requirements.
• Provide advisory input on policy formulation, program evaluation, and impact assessment
based on research insights.
Operational & Strategic Support
• Develop client acquisition strategies and maintain a robust business pipeline.
• Work closely with senior management to align business development efforts with organizational
objectives.
• Prepare and deliver business presentations and progress reports to internal and external
stakeholders.
• Support quality assurance, ethical compliance, and brand representation in all business
development activities.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree or MBA in Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, International
Development, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in international business development, proposal
management, or client engagement within US social and development sectors.
Skills & Competencies
• Proven experience in developing proposals and responding to RFPs/RFIs for US government
and donor-funded projects.
• Strong understanding of US socio-economic, policy, and development ecosystem.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management and partnership building.
• Proficiency in data analysis, proposal writing, and strategic documentation.
• Ability to facilitate meetings, manage multi-stakeholder dialogues, and drive consensus.
• High level of cultural awareness and ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous and
multicultural communities in US.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and project coordination across US.
Languages
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• Knowledge of additional US community languages will be an advantage.
