Job Description
KPMG in Papua New Guinea remains on a significant growth trajectory, and we require a Finance Officer to join our growing Support Services team based in Port Moresby.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Initiate and process all international payment requests in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with banks to ensure timely and accurate execution of overseas transactions.
- Reconcile overseas payment accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of all international transactions.
- Prepare, lodge, and obtain tax compliance certificates (TCC)
- Prepare and submit weekly reports on overseas payments, including transaction and TCC summaries, outstanding payments, and compliance status.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to overseas payments
- Monitor daily cash balances and ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
- Provide treasury-related reports to Finance Partner, including variance analysis and funding requirements.
- Manage bank account openings, closures, signatory updates and all other banking correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and treasury policies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to overseas payments and treasury
- Assist in other section of Finance operations
Qualifications
If you are interested, does this sound like you? Having the following would be an advantage:
- A Diploma in Accounting (or equivalent qualification)
- 2+ years’ experience in payments processing, banking, or finance (preferably with exposure to international transactions and treasury operations)
- Experience with ERP or financial management systems is an advantage
- Acquired experience and skills in applications in Microsoft Office- Excel, Email and Word
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact, engage and foster trustworthy relationships with your internal clients and external service providers
