About the Role

We are looking for Extension Supervisors with experience in conducting agricultural trainings, and have good field knowledge, to improve our extension services, SBCC initiatives and follow-up on SBC and Extension researches or trials to help us achieve our 2030 vision. You will be responsible for Extension and Social Behaviour Change KPIs follow ups and reporting. You will report to Field Operations Impact Senior Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Agricultural Training follow up and reporting

  • Identify and report field challenges, including misunderstood communications, ineffective trainings and non-compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of trainings for field staff, ensuring they are comprehensive and engaging
  • Collaborate with field leaders to ensure that FOs are delivering agricultural trainings to farmers, and follow up and report on any issues that arise from the field
  • Follow up on field KPIs to gain insights for management actions and ensure accurate reporting by FOs.
  • Gather feedback from field team on Impact activities and identify areas of improvement to make sure KPIs are accurate
  • Ensure key information is effectively communicated between impact and execution teams (Field leaders and Field Officers).
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure proper document distribution and access i.e. planting flyers.
  • Track pest and disease outbreaks reported by FOs, farmer responses, and effectiveness of control methods and assist in troubleshooting technical issues, such as crop health, pest management.

Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

  • Diploma in agriculture, rural development, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand agricultural practices and crop management.
  • Communication and Collaboration: To convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Experience in delivering agricultural training. Ability to conduct training sessions, and provide technical support to field teams.
  • Data collection: Proficiency in data collection and reporting. Knowledge of data quality standards and experience in using data management tools.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Chichewa, both written and spoken.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Google Doc, Google Sheet, Google form and Kobo
