PROJECT BACKGROUND
GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green policies that can impact the lives of millions. The Government of Nepal (GoN) became the 44th member country of GGGI on October 23, 2022. In Nepal, GGGI is delivering its activities through GGGI Nepal Country Office.
GGGI Nepal is currently involved in various projects, one of which is the SET4NPL project. SET4NPL is supported by Mitigation Action Facility and implemented by GGGI and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The project's goal is to sustainably transform Nepal’s public transportation sector and create significant environmental, health, and mobility benefits. The project aims to roll out approximately 3,500 electric Mini and micro-buses (EMBs) and depot charging stations nationally over five years, contributing significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
