Description

General description of the position: The key expert is responsible for the implementation of the activities under this contract, with ad hoc support from Non-Key Experts (NKE) upon request of the EUD. The KE is specialised in event management and communication and based in Rwanda. • Expert category: Place of Performance - Cat. II (>6 years of experience) • Qualifications and skills required: - University degree preferably in communication, management, or related fields. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in a combination of the following sectors: communications, event organization, multimedia materials and publications, or related fields - Fluent in English, oral and written. - Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and/or French is an advantage. - The candidate should be ordinarily resident in Rwanda, candidates of all nationalities are invited to apply but please note that flights costs to and from Rwanda will not be eligible for Key expert under this contract. • General professional experience: -Proven strong capabilities and leadership in organizing workshops, events and campaigns -Proven strong knowledge of social media and communications would be an asset -Experience of working on issues related to civil society and human rights would be an asset • Specific professional experience: -Experience in communication with track record of successful organization of events work in Rwanda and/or EAC region. -Knowledge of building capacity of civil society organizations and working with human rights defenders; -Experience in working in Rwanda and EAC region will be an advantage. • Language skills: -C2-level expertise in English is required; -Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and/or French is an asset. • Number of working days: 50 days
