Title: Deputy Team Leader - Buildings Sector 

Services Designation: Deputy Team Leader for IFI Projects in Ukraine

Location: Ukraine

Starting date: To be determined once we have secured a project. The selected specialists will be informed in advance. 

Duration: Depending on project

Background

Rambøll Buildings is expanding its local presence in Ukraine, focusing on social and residential housing, as well as reconstruction projects. Our aim is to engage highly qualified specialists with experience in projects funded by International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The objective of our initiative is to enhance the local infrastructure and contribute to sustainable development in Ukraine. 

The effort is structured around engaging with local specialists who can be involved in upcoming projects ensuring high standards in project management and execution. 

Objectives

The Deputy Team Leader will assist the Team Leader in managing and leading IFI projects in Ukraine. They will represent Rambøll Buildings and support our mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and environmentally impactful projects. The Deputy Team Leader will ensure adherence to internationally accepted standards and practices, particularly in procurement and project management. 

Main Requirements

Education Requirements: Master's degree in engineering or a related field. 

Professional Experience: 

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in relevant fields. 
  • At least 5 years of experience working on infrastructure or buildings projects in Ukraine funded by IFIs. 
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Team Leader or Deputy Team Leader in municipal infrastructure projects in Ukraine. 
  • Experience providing support to Project Implementation Units (PIUs). 
  • Proven knowledge of project cycle management. 

Procurement Knowledge: 

  • Proven knowledge of internationally accepted procurement rules and procedures. 

Skills and Language: 

  • Proven understanding of Ukrainian legislations and contracting practices related to infrastructure and buildings projects.
  • Good knowledge in written and verbal communication in English, demonstrated through education, international project experience, or roles in English - speaking environments. 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Ukrainian. 
  • Proven experience in leading EU and/or Nefco projects will be considered an advantage. 

Local Presence and Knowledge: 

  • Strong familiarity with the local context and environment in Ukraine
