We are shortlisted by The World Bank for Request for Proposals for “Consultancy to conduct Drainage Standards and Road Asset Management” in The Gambia. Additionally, we are also executing 4 funded assignments in Gambia.
a) Qualifications and skills: A qualified Professional with a BSc or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
b) General Professional Experience: Minimum post qualification experience of 7 years and shall have handled at least 2 similar assignments within the last 5 years including at least 3 years of African work experience at the same position or similar;
c) Specific Professional Experience: He/ She shall have a demonstrable skill in data analysis software, statistical methods, and programming languages such as Python, Matlab, and the like.
d) Roles & Responsibilities: The key duties of the Data Analyst will include but are not limited to the following:
● Gather data from various sources, such as maintenance records, road condition assessments, GIS systems.
● Ensure data accuracy, quality, and completeness by cleaning, organizing and validating data related to road infrastructure, including pavements, bridges, and culverts.
● Develop and manage database that store asset information, maintenance history, usage statistics, and performance metrics.
● Conduct analysis of accident data, and environmental factors to identify potential areas of improvement in the road network.
● Help identify which assets need repair, rehabilitation, or replacement, based on cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments.
● Identify high-risk areas where road infrastructure is likely to experience failures or require maintenance.
● Work closely with GIS specialist to integrate spatial data into analysis, helping provide geospatial context to asset performance and maintenance needs.
● Train NRA staff on how to interpret data, use analytical tools, and leverage insight for effective asset management.
