Overview: The Rwanda Research Associate will gather targeted insights on HPV testing policies, program scale-up progress, and integration with Rwanda’s strong community health system. Rwanda offers valuable lessons on national leadership, centralized monitoring structures, and continuum-of-care efficiency, and the associate will collect key information that supports the evaluation’s cross-country synthesis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review national policies on HPV vaccination and screening, existing HPV testing pilots, and cancer control strategies.

• Interview Ministry of Health officials, RBC (Rwanda Biomedical Centre) teams, implementing partners, community health supervisors, and CSOs.

• Verify high-level information on facility readiness, referral mechanisms, provider training, and data reporting flows.

• Capture perspectives on women’s access, stigma reduction, and community health worker engagement.

• Summarize findings related to service delivery models and national scalability considerations.

• Develop a concise Rwanda country brief (4–6 pages).

Qualifications

• Degree in public health, epidemiology, or health policy.

• Strong knowledge of Rwanda’s health system and RBC structures.

• Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda; French proficiency an asset.

• 8-10 years of experience working with CHWs or community-based health systems preferred.

• Demonstrated skills in interviewing, qualitative synthesis, and health systems analysis.

• Familiarity with digital health platforms or data systems desirable.

Education:?An advanced degree in a relevant field across the social sciences

Working Environment:?Work is performed in a typical corporate office environment or remotely.

Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary position that required the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility:?This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
