Short project description:
The project aims to further strengthen community‑based biodiversity conservation in and around selected protected areas. It builds on the achievements and lessons learned from previous phases implemented in several Southeast Asian countries. The programme supports a long‑established regional initiative focused on safeguarding important ecosystems, raising awareness, and improving cooperation for natural heritage protection. It aims to conserve biodiversity while enhancing the livelihoods of local communities. The programme will focus on strengthening participatory management of protected areas and promoting inclusive livelihood and green business models that increase climate resilience.

Job description:
The services provided under this contract are intended to support the Client in reviewing/evaluating the funding applications submitted and in concluding the funding agreements between the contracting authority and the respective implementing partners.

In addition, the expert (m/f/d) is to support the Client in analyzing the financial and technical reporting of the implementing partners, in preparing the technical and financial reports, and in ensuring their technical quality.

Detailed requirements:

Education: M.Sc. (or higher) in Forestry, Biology, Geography, Economy, Sociology or related subjects

Country /Regional experience: Work experience in at least two of the countries listed is mandatory. The same applies to experience with financial cooperation (e.g. ADB, EU, KfW, etc.)

Languages: English is mandatory, German and/or any of the regional languages is a bonus

Expertise / Profile:
At least 10 years of relevant professional experience. The expert (m/f/d) must be physically capable of undertaking regular business trips to ministries, authorities and villages in the countries listed. In addition, the expert (m/f/d) must have a high level of intercultural competence (four countries, several different ethnic groups) and above-average verbal and written communication skills.
