Name of Project: Consulting Services for the Construction Supervision of the Metro Manila Bridges Project under ADB Financing

 

Location: Philippine, Manila

 

Objective of the Project/Assignment: 

The objective of the projects is to enhance the efficiency of Metro Manila’s road network. This strategy aims to alleviate traffic congestion by providing additional fix links (bridges) and alternative routes crossing the Marikina River.

The project covers the construction of three (3) bridges namely: (i) Marcos Highway-St. Mary Avenue Bridge, (ii) Homeowner's Drive -A. Bonifacio Bridge, and (iii) Kabayani Street - Matandang Batara Bridge.

 

Position Held: Sr. Social Safeguard Specialist

 

Position Summary: The Social Safeguard Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that social safeguard requirements of the project. The implementation standards follow the approved RAP (Resettlement Action Plan), national regulations and ADB Safeguard Policy Statement. The position involves closely with Employer, DPWH ESSD and PAPs (Project Affected Persons) with related agencies for smooth land acquisition, resettlement and social mitigation processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Ÿ Certify the results of socio-economic survey of PAPs to support effective and compliant project implementation.

Ÿ Organize and conduct the committee meetings with PAPs and related offices to proceed the transparent RAP implementation.

Ÿ Coordinate with DPWH ESSD on social mitigation measures to support timely and successful project execution.

Ÿ Supervise the land and road right-of-way acquisition and resettlement activities according to RAP.

Ÿ Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be required by Employer and ADB.

 

Qualifications Required:

Ÿ Candidates with appropriate years of relevant experience involving roads, bridges and other related works

Ÿ BS in Economics / Social Development or any Discipline related to the position

ŸMS or Doctoral Degree in any Discipline related to the position is preferred

Ÿ Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision of any related infrastructure projects as Social Safeguard Specialist

Ÿ Minimum 3 years of experience in consulting services of any related infrastructure projects in the Southeast Asia

Ÿ Applicants should be fluent in English
