International Environment Safeguard Specialist

NAREE is hiring an International Environment Safeguard Specialist for an ADB project to support the assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts in hydropower development projects in the Federated States of Micronesia.

Project duration: 1 year
Required input: 4 person-months intermittently

Requirements:
1) Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or related fields from a recognized university;
2) At least 7 years overall relevant experience in EIA and/or environmental safeguard management for internationally financed infrastructure projects;
3) Technical knowledge and experience in relevant areas such as EIA, environmental studies, environmental management planning and management, and implementation of environmental safeguard activities on infrastructure projects preferably in the hydropower sector and in Small Island Development States;
4) Experience in supervisory work on-site with/for contractors or working on the implementation of infrastructural projects is an asset;
5) Experience with environmental safeguards and other pertinent policies and standards of multilateral financial institutions, especially the ADB and WB, and their practices;
6) Experience working in Northern Pacific is highly preferred.
