SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
Myanmar, all projects (funding from ECHO, UNOPS, UNICEF, MHF, FCDO, CDCS, CIAA-AAP, French Agence de l'Eau). Large volume of grants (9, regular ones) and impacts of fundraising dedicated to the Earthquake response (top-ups or 4 new grants), covering Rakhine, Kachin and the central part of the country. Participation to number of consortia of various international and national NGOs across bases.
In coordination, 30 positions, including 5 in the Programs department (none under your direct management; 3 MEAL Managers and 1 IM Manager at base/area level)
At mission level, 195 positions (with possibly 3-4 under your functional management)

The MEAL Coordinator provides methodological support to all the program teams. S/he also guarantees the quality and the relevance of any monitoring activities and internal evaluations carried out on the mission, together with any recommendations and analysis provided.
S/he is involved with experience capitalisation and developing SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL strategy, by providing a support strategy for the programs in terms of monitoring, evaluation and integration of any “cross-functional issues” (type, protection, accountability, negative impact, community participation, disability inclusion, etc.).
The main challenges:
1st MEAL Coo position to be based in Yangon, significant volume in complex and diverse consortia, with strong MEAL and IM commitments
- Entry in the country is progressively re-established for expatriates, the position currently held from Bangkok will transition to Yangon in February-March 2026
- Access: Travel Authorization (TA) is needed every month in order to acces the camps, expatriate cannot apply for TA since august 2023. Access to intervention sites remains highly constrained as of late 2025.
- Significant restructuring ongoing at mission level: while the MYA annual programming is stabilizing between 10.5 and 12 MEUR, the number of Grants and active Partnerships remains important and requires a strong monitoring while the operational model of SI in Myanmar is transforming. Meanwhile, the balance of programming across bases is also evolving with historic bases being progressively reorganized to match new funding and programming realities.
