Job Title: Communications Officer

Contract Type: Full time – Office Based

Team: Admin and finance

Reports to (Line Manager): Country Director

Job Purpose Summary

Lead and implement Turquoise Mountain Palestine’s communications strategy across commercial, heritage, and development programming, ensuring strong local and international visibility, high-quality visual storytelling, and effective donor and partner engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a clear communications approach that supports commercial growth, programme visibility, and donor engagement.
  • Manage all social media platforms, including planning content, photography, videography, graphic design, and writing captions and stories.
  • Ensure our messaging reflects the strength of Palestinian artisans and the impact of our work.

Commercial

  • Work closely with the Commercial Lead to promote product launches, exhibitions, retail activity, and international sales.
  • Produce strong visual and campaign content that supports sales and brand positioning.

Donor & Fundraising

  • Document programmes through field visits, photography, and beneficiary interviews.
  • Produce compelling success stories, case studies, factsheets, and brochures.
  • Ensure donor visibility requirements are met.
  • Develop communications materials that help attract new donors, partners, and funding opportunities.

Programmes & Partnerships

  • Capture and communicate the impact of heritage, training, and economic development programmes.
  • Produce image bundles and short films for partners and stakeholders.

Events & Media

  • Lead communications support for exhibitions, events, and donor visits.
  • Draft press releases and support media outreach locally and internationally.
  • Maintain an organised archive of images and communications materials.
  • Undertake other communications-related tasks as requested by the Country Director.

Professional Approach

  • Strategic and commercially aware, understanding how communications drive sales, visibility, and funding.
  • Able to translate commercial priorities, product launches, and exhibitions into compelling campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of how storytelling supports donor engagement and fundraising.
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple campaigns across commercial, programme, and donor work.
  • Comfortable coordinating closely with the Commercial Lead and programme teams.

Specific Job Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Communications, Media, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8 years of professional Experience in nonprofit, development, cultural, or commercial sectors preferred.
  • Proven experience managing social media channels, scheduling content, and supporting or running campaigns.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube is preferred.
  • Experience supporting commercial marketing initiatives, product launches, exhibitions, or retail promotion.
  • Experience producing strong product photography and promotional content.
  • Experience developing donor-facing materials (case studies, factsheets, impact stories).
  • Experience contributing to communications that support fundraising or partnership development.

Skills

  • Strong photography and visual storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in design and editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Ability to create content that supports commercial growth and attracts donors.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
