Call for Technical Experts – Critical Raw Materials, Recovery Technologies, and Industrial Process Design

Sistem Global is expanding its pool of qualified experts in the field of critical raw materials, recovery from secondary sources and end-of-life products, circular economy, process engineering, and technical capacity development.

The assignment is expected to include technical and analytical work related to critical raw materials recovery systems, rare earth elements and other strategic materials, technology assessment, laboratory-to-pilot scale approaches, pilot/model facility design, feasibility studies, operational planning, and technical training activities.

We are particularly interested in hearing from experts with solid experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Critical Raw Materials / Rare Earth Elements Experts
Professionals with demonstrated expertise in critical raw materials, especially rare earth elements, boron, lithium, and other strategic materials, including their recovery from secondary sources, mining residues, and end-of-life products.

2. Secondary Raw Materials Recovery Experts
Experts with practical or analytical experience in the recovery, recycling, separation, purification, and reuse of valuable materials from industrial waste streams, tailings, electronic waste, spent components, and other secondary resources.

3. Metallurgical Engineers
Professionals with experience in extractive metallurgy, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, solvent extraction, leaching, precipitation, purification, and metallurgical process optimisation related to CRM recovery.

4. Chemical / Process Engineers
Experts with strong background in process development, flow-sheet preparation, mass balance analysis, pilot process design, separation systems, process optimisation, and scaling up technical recovery processes from laboratory to pilot or industrial level.

5. Materials Science / Advanced Materials Experts
Professionals with knowledge of advanced materials, permanent magnets, battery-related materials, metal oxides, and material characterisation, especially in relation to recovery, reuse, and reintegration into industrial applications.

6. Mining and Mineral Processing Experts
Experts experienced in ore dressing residues, tailings, beneficiation-related waste, mineral characterisation, and the assessment of secondary resource potential from mining and mineral processing operations.

7. E-Waste and End-of-Life Product Recovery Experts
Professionals with proven expertise in recovery systems for end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment, permanent magnets, batteries, and other waste streams containing critical raw materials.

8. Technology Assessment and Benchmarking Experts
Experts with experience in reviewing existing and emerging CRM recovery technologies, benchmarking international good practices, assessing technical suitability, and identifying appropriate technologies for local industrial application.

9. Pilot Facility Design Experts
Professionals with experience in the technical design of pilot-scale recovery facilities, including process configuration, unit operations, equipment definition, design criteria, and technical documentation.

10. Industrial Facility / Model Plant Design Experts
Experts with experience in industrial-scale or model plant design for recycling, recovery, or mineral/material processing systems, including conceptual design, technical specifications, process flow design, and operational considerations.

11. Feasibility and Operational Planning Experts
Professionals with expertise in technical feasibility studies, operational manuals, implementation planning, resource requirements, plant functionality, process sustainability, and practical readiness for pilot or industrial deployment.

12. Laboratory and Applied R&D Experts
Researchers and technical specialists with experience in laboratory testing, process validation, materials analysis, pilot verification, and applied R&D related to critical raw materials and recovery technologies.

13. Technical Training Experts
Experts with proven experience in delivering specialised technical trainings for researchers, engineers, laboratory staff, and industrial professionals in fields such as CRM recovery, metallurgical processes, pilot systems, and applied industrial technologies.

Indicative Requirements

• University degree in a relevant field such as metallurgy, chemical engineering, process engineering, materials science, mining engineering, environmental engineering, chemistry, or related disciplines
• Proven professional experience in one or more of the technical areas listed above
• Prior experience in donor-funded, industrial, R&D, or public-sector technical assistance projects is an asset
• Experience in pilot-scale systems, industrial process design, or recovery technologies is highly desirable
