Key Responsibilities

Provide independent technical supervision, review, and monitoring of railway works in accordance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract, Employer’s Requirements, and World Bank / EBRD standards, ensuring that construction, installation, and integration activities are executed safely, on time, and to the required quality.

Technical Supervision

  • Supervise railway construction and/or system installation works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
  • Monitor contractor compliance with FIDIC contract obligations and technical standards
  • Verify workmanship, materials, tolerances, and test results
  • Identify construction non‑conformities and support corrective actions

Design & Technical Review

  • Review contractor designs, calculations, and shop drawings relevant to railway works
  • Support constructability reviews and interface coordination with other disciplines
  • Ensure alignment with Employer’s Requirements and international railway standards

Progress & Reporting

  • Monitor physical progress against approved schedules
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site reports
  • Report risks, delays, and technical issues to senior supervision staff

Interface & Coordination

  • Coordinate with civil, systems, signaling, electrification, and O&M interfaces
  • Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Participate in site meetings and technical coordination workshops

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Support implementation of Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures
  • Monitor contractor compliance with ESHS, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and community safety requirements
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and lender monitoring missions

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Railway, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related discipline)

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in railway or major linear infrastructure projects
  • Experience in at least one of the following:
    • Railway supervision
    • Design review
    • Construction management
    • Systems installation and integration

Contract & Lender Exposure

  • Prior experience under FIDIC Conditions of Contract is required
  • Experience on World Bank and/or EBRD‑funded projects is highly desirable

Key Competencies

  • Strong understanding of railway construction and/or systems engineering principles
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of site supervision practices and quality control procedures
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Report writing and technical documentation capability

Preferred Experience (Asset)

  • Experience on railway mega projects (high‑speed rail, metro, conventional rail)
  • Familiarity with testing & commissioning processes
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary interfaces (civil–systems–O&M)

Work Environment

  • Site‑based position with field supervision responsibilities
  • Interaction with contractors, designers, Employer, and lender representatives
