The Role
The GBV Team Lead will provide technical leadership and oversight for the delivery of a school-based violence prevention programme in Liberia. The role ensures high-quality implementation of School-Related GBV (SRGBV) prevention and response activities, guides the design and roll-out of girls' and boys' clubs, strengthens reporting and referral systems, and integrates climate resilience and social norms programming within school-based protection initiatives. The role manages a small project team, coordinates with government and community stakeholders, and acts as the safeguarding lead for the project.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead consolidation and updating of SRGBV protocols, school-based safety procedures and reporting pathways
- Guide the implementation and scale-up of girls' and boys' clubs in line with the whole-school approach
- Integrate climate resilience education into violence prevention activities
- Develop and update GBV standard operating procedures, referral pathways and school-level response protocols
- Conduct regular GBV and protection risk assessments to inform adaptive programming
- Manage and mentor Project Officers and guidance counsellors
- Deliver capacity building and training for government staff, school management committees and community stakeholders
- Coordinate with Ministry of Education departments, County Education Offices and protection partners
- Oversee data collection, SADDD analysis and ethical management of GBV information
- Prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports and contribute to donor reporting
- Serve as the safeguarding and protection lead for the project
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in gender studies, social sciences, sociology, social work or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience in GBV or SRGBV prevention and response in development or humanitarian settings within Liberia or West Africa
- Proven experience managing a team delivering community or school-based interventions
- Strong knowledge of GBV standards, reporting mechanisms and survivor-centred approaches
- Experience with safeguarding, child protection and safe programming
- Experience collaborating with government stakeholders in the education sector
Desirable
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with World Bank Environmental and Social Framework standards
- Experience integrating climate resilience or social norms change into protection programming
- Knowledge of national GBV and child protection frameworks in Liberia
