The Impact Investment Readiness in Indonesia (IIRI) is a high-impact, five-year project (2025-2029) launched by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Impact Investment Exchange (IIX) to fundamentally strengthen the economic resilience of Indonesian women-focused micro, small, and medium enterprises (WMSMEs). The project is aimed at mobilizing at least CAD 27 million in private capital to support WMSMEs in underserved and climate-vulnerable regions of Indonesia. Desjardins International Development (DID) has been engaged as a key technical and ecosystem-strengthening partner for the IIRI project.
The project addresses critical financing and capacity gaps faced by women entrepreneurs by strengthening WMSME investment readiness through tailored diagnostics and technical assistance, while enhancing the supply of gender-responsive capital by improving investor confidence, impact data, and market infrastructure. Aligned with Indonesia’s development priorities, IIX’s Orange Capital principles, Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy, and key UN Sustainable Development Goals, the IIRI Project seeks to drive systemic change in Indonesia’s impact investing ecosystem and promote inclusive, climate-smart, and gender-transformative economic growth.
