Description

The Engineer means the person appointed by Consultant to represent the Employer in accordance with the FIDIC GCC, Sub-Clause 1.1.2 Parties and Persons. The Engineer shall have no authority to amend the Contract. The Engineer holds specific delegated authorities as stated in the Particular Conditions in the Contract between the Employer and the Contractor, under Yellow Book Sub-Clause 3.1. Under FIDIC Yellow Book GCC Sub-Clause 3.2, the Engineer may from time to time assign duties and delegate authority to assistants, that may include a resident engineer and/or independent inspectors to test items of Plant and/or Materials. The Engineer’s primary focus is on strategic contract management, risk mitigation, and overall oversight of design review and construction supervision.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Review and approve design submissions.
  • Oversee construction supervision and advise on delays, claims, and variations.
  • Issue instructions.
  • Submit monthly and final report.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering; postgraduate qualifications preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of cumulative experience related to large scale infrastructure construction project management, including 10 years working with various contracts under FIDIC, including Plant and Design-Build.
    International experience preferred.
  • Caribbean region nationals are preferred.
