About the Opportunity

WEglobal is expanding its network of regional and international experts to support ongoing and upcoming initiatives linked to the European Union’s Global Gateway priorities across Africa.

As part of our growing portfolio of EU-funded technical assistance assignments, governance programmes, communication initiatives, and civil society support actions, we are seeking experienced professionals who can contribute to stakeholder engagement, institutional coordination, policy dialogue, strategic communication, and inclusive development processes.

Assignments may support Team Europe Initiatives, EU Delegation programmes, regional cooperation actions, public diplomacy activities, governance and human rights initiatives, and communication and outreach projects implemented in cooperation with public institutions, civil society organisations, development partners, and international stakeholders.

Profiles of Interest

We are particularly interested in professionals with experience related to:

  • Civil society development and civic engagement
  • Human rights, democracy, and governance
  • Strategic communication and public diplomacy
  • Media, outreach, and visibility actions
  • Stakeholder engagement and partnership building
  • Youth participation and social inclusion
  • Gender equality and women’s empowerment
  • Policy dialogue and institutional coordination
  • Capacity development and training activities
  • Regional cooperation and multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Monitoring, reporting, and programme support
  • EU external cooperation and donor-funded programmes

Indicative Scope of Assignments

Depending on assignment needs, experts may contribute to:

  • Supporting the implementation of EU-funded governance, civil society, and communication initiatives
  • Facilitating stakeholder dialogue and coordination among institutions, CSOs, development partners, media actors, and international organisations
  • Supporting communication campaigns, outreach activities, visibility actions, and public engagement initiatives
  • Contributing to institutional assessments, stakeholder mapping exercises, and analytical reporting
  • Supporting policy dialogue, consultation processes, and multi-stakeholder coordination platforms
  • Preparing technical inputs, reports, communication materials, briefing notes, and strategic recommendations
  • Supporting capacity-building activities, workshops, trainings, and consultation events
  • Assisting in programme coordination, monitoring, and reporting processes
  • Supporting initiatives linked to inclusion, participation, governance, rights-based approaches, and civic engagement

Desired Background

We welcome expressions of interest from professionals with relevant experience in international development cooperation, governance and institutional support programmes, civil society initiatives, strategic communication projects, or human rights-related assignments.

Previous experience working within EU-funded programmes, donor-funded projects, international organisations, civil society organisations, public institutions, or regional initiatives would be considered an advantage.

Strong communication, coordination, facilitation, drafting, and stakeholder engagement capacities are highly valued.

Languages

Excellent command of English is required for most assignments.

Knowledge of French, Portuguese, Arabic, or other regional languages relevant to African partner countries would be considered an asset depending on assignment needs.

Additional Information

Experts may be considered for both short- and long-term assignments depending on project requirements and regional priorities.

Please note that inclusion in the expert network does not imply immediate engagement. Experts will be contacted based on assignment needs and profile relevance.
