Conducting online safety seminars for German Doctors eV
1. Background
German Doctors eV is a non-profit, legally constituted association based in Bonn.
The organization provides basic medical services for people in particularly vulnerable life situations in countries of the Global South.
To prepare the deployed doctors for their six-week assignments abroad, German Doctors eV has commissioned the implementation of security seminars starting in January 2027.
2. Objective of the assignment
The aim of the project is to provide comprehensive, practical and context-related preparation for doctors to meet security-related challenges during their deployments.
3. Scope of Services
The contractor shall provide the following services under their own responsibility:
- Preparation of approximately 200 physicians per year on relevant safety aspects in the operational context, in 2 modules of 90 minutes each, in German.
- Conducting online seminars (e.g. via Zoom or a similar platform)
- Conception and implementation of various thematic modules
- Suggestion of suitable training content (e.g., behavior in the event of accidents, illnesses, kidnappings, natural disasters and other relevant risks with concrete examples from our countries of operation: Kenya, Sierra Leone, Uganda, India, Bangladesh and the Philippines)
- Organization and administration of participants (including registration and attendance documentation)
4. Frequency and organization
- Conducting approximately 24 seminars per year (an average of two sessions per month)
- Scheduling will be done in close consultation with the client.
5. Technical requirements and expertise
The contractor has:
- Demonstrable experience in conducting safety or preparation training, ideally in an international context
- Knowledge of relevant risk contexts in the aforementioned countries of operation
- Didactic competence in conveying practice-oriented content in online formats
- Proven expertise in the field of gender-based violence (GBV) and the ability to integrate GBV-sensitive approaches into training content (e.g., prevention, risk awareness, options for action in emergencies)

Based on the selection criteria listed below, German Doctors will shortlist three candidates who will then be invited for an interview.
