Description

We are currently implementing a project in Uzbekistan and seeking qualified professionals to apply for the Senior SCADA, Telecommunication, and Protection Systems Engineer (International) position. Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunication Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in SCADA systems design, implementation, and integration for power transmission and distribution networks
  • Proven experience in automation, protection, and control systems for digital substations (220 kV and above)
  • Demonstrated experience in managing or supervising similar projects is an asset
  • Strong expertise in SCADA communication systems and integration with transmission and distribution infrastructure
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with international donor-funded projects (preferably ADB) is an asset
  • Experience in developing countries and knowledge of local language are advantages

Position Overview:

  • Lead and support pre-feasibility studies for distribution SCADA integration and conceptual system design at national level
  • Develop and recommend SCADA architecture aligned with existing systems (e.g., transmission SCADA) considering technical and investment constraints
  • Optimize SCADA-related investments and ensure efficient system integration strategies
  • Coordinate project teams and contribute to detailed work plans and implementation schedules
  • Review SCADA, telecommunication, protection, automation, and control system designs for substations to ensure compliance with project and RLDC/NLDC requirements
  • Assess primary and secondary equipment for adherence to technical specifications and recommend design improvements where necessary
  • Supervise implementation and installation phases, ensuring compliance with approved designs and quality standards
  • Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation, integration, and operation of SCADA and electrical systems
  • Monitor project progress, identify technical challenges, and propose corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to project quality assurance plans and certify As-Built drawings and progress payments
  • Manage reporting processes, including progress reports, deviation reporting, and coordination with stakeholders for timely resolution
