Ginger SOFRECO is shorlisted and leading a consortium for the EU-funded project “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” under the NDICI framework.
The project aims to promote sustainable, smart, resilient, and safe mobility by strengthening transport governance and regulatory frameworks for land, air, and water transport across the ECOWAS region.
To support the implementation of this strategic regional assignment, the consortium is seeking applications for the position of:
Civil Engineer – Road Asset Management & Corridor Infrastructure Expert
Location : Abuja, Nigeria, with missions across ECOWAS Member States.
Indicative Duration : 48 months, with a minimum of 880 working days (expected start date: January 2027).
Qualifications and skills:
• A university degree in civil engineering, transport infrastructure, or a related field.
• A post-graduate degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in civil engineering, transport infrastructure, or a related relevant field.
• Fluency in English or French, with at least good working knowledge of the other language being an asset.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with technical data related to road infrastructure and asset management.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
General professional experience:
• At least 15 years of professional experience in road infrastructure, construction and maintenance, or civil engineering
• Significant experience working in developing countries, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Specific professional experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in the planning, design, supervision, or management of major road and corridor infrastructure projects.
• Experience with performance-based maintenance systems and/or road asset management systems.
• Experience in multi-country or regional corridor initiatives will be considered an asset.
