About the job: The Energy Efficiency Expert in Buildings will provide technical expertise for the planning, design and implementation of energy efficiency interventions in public buildings. The position will support technical studies, energy audits, engineering design, procurement documentation and works supervision, contributing to the successful delivery of the programme.
About the project: The assignment supports a donor-funded programme in Côte d'Ivoire aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting sustainable infrastructure. The programme combines technical assistance, engineering support, procurement, works supervision and project management for energy efficiency interventions in public infrastructure, while strengthening institutional capacity and contributing to the country's climate and sustainable development objectives.
Qualifications:
- At least 8 years’ general experience in the field of energy, building services or technical equipment;
- Minimum 5-year post-secondary qualification in energy, building thermal engineering, HVAC engineering, electromechanics, electrical engineering, building engineering or an equivalent field;
- Additional training or certification in energy efficiency, energy audits or building energy performance is desirable.
Technical skills:
- Energy audits of existing buildings and analysis of energy usage;
- Assessment of air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, domestic hot water and other systems;
- Development of an energy baseline and definition of performance indicators;
- Identification, costing and prioritization of energy-saving measures;
- Technical and economic analysis of proposed solutions and assistance with the preparation of technical specifications;
- Proficiency in office software and, preferably, energy calculation or simulation software;
- Support in the preparation of technical dossiers:
a) Formulate technical specifications relating to the selected energy measures;
b) Contribute to the drafting of ToRs, tender documents, CAD drawings or other necessary technical documents;
c) Support the definition of performance to be monitored during and after the works.
