Description

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has received a financing from Agence Française de Développement ("AFD"), and intends to use part of the funds thereof for payments under the following Technical Assistance: Package 6 E - Capacity Building and Project Management Support, as part of the structuring Kampala Water - Lake Victoria (KW-LV) WATSAN Project.

The Consultancy services shall consist of following and we are looking for a dedicated and competent team leader who can lead this project in Uganda.

1. Capacity Building - in the general and cross-cutting areas of (i) Investment planning and management, and (ii) O&M management, which encompasses interrelated activities such as Water Quality management, SCADA & hydraulic zones monitoring, Customer management, Asset management, including integrated asset information management systems, Non-Revenue Water (NRW) management, Human Resources management, and Information Technology.

2. Procurement of equipment – the Consultant shall support NWSC to procure equipment to facilitate the capacity building interventions in above.

3. Project Management Support - to the KW-LV WATSAN Project Implementation Unit. This shall entail technical support to the NWSC project managers during the implementation of other Packages under the KW-LVWATSAN project, and plan, conduct and/or oversee project-specific training.

Qualifications required:
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Civil/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Proficient in written and spoken English

Professional experience required:
Must have a minimum of 15 years overall working experience Experience in team leadership in water/wastewater management projects will be an advantage Experience in capacity building projects will be an advantage Experience in project management support/construction supervision will be an advantage Experience in procurement (of equipment and goods) will be an advantage Experience in developing countries from Africa or Asia in water/wastewater sector will be an advantage Experience in the Eastern African region, preferably in Uganda will be an advantage
